Slow CW results 2025

Poco direbbero i “Big Contesters”...

Exactly one year after the idea of what I eventually called the “SLOW CW QSO PARTY” flashed through my mind, we have reached the end with the final ranking.

It has been a unique and demanding job, but one that has given me great satisfaction: seeing almost 100 operators take part in the very first edition, sending the Marconi Club 77 logs with 1319 QSOs in just half a day of activity... Not much, the “Big Contesters” would say... Try it in QRS at 12 WPM and then tell me if it really is not much!!!!!

But the greatest satisfaction was seeing Old Hands and Novices share the CW frequencies with fairness, professionalism, healthy and honest competition, determination and above all in harmony, patiently at 12 WPM or less.

It was a dream that came true thanks to the Marconi Club, to Valter IK1QAD and Tony IK1QBT, without forgetting the behind-the-scenes support of Stefano IK2JUB and Claudio IW1QLH.

I have finally seen first-hand how much work, dedication and energy go into any activity or initiative set up to give everyone the opportunity to practise and have fun, including those who take a lot, too much, for granted.

This is what justifies the existence of a group, an association, a club. The true essence of any worthy association is the presence of people who devote their time, resources and knowledge to encourage the active participation and involvement of many others.

While thanking Valter and Tony for the opportunity I was given, I believe it is also right to thank those who inspired me to create this event from scratch: my fellow students of the Marconi Club 2023/2024 CW course, to whom I now turn. With your opinions, enthusiasm, curiosity and determination you sparked the idea in me. All of you were the origin of what has become YOUR Slow CW QSO Party.

Besides those I already knew and who know me, I also want to thank those I met for the first time behind a Morse code key. Thank you for taking part, and see you at the next Marconi Club Slow CW QSO Party 2026, with the same determination and above all with the right welcoming spirit that together we will offer to the next newcomers.
