A long tradition devoted to Morse code
The MARCONI CLUB A.R.I. Loano was founded on 8 May 1988 by Libero I1YXN and Baldur DJ6SI. Its purpose is to bring together, ideally, all radio amateurs who use Morse code in their radio contacts. They were called "MARCONISTI" in honour of Guglielmo Marconi. The first President and founder of the "Marconi Club" was the Marchioness Maria Cristina MARCONI, wife of Guglielmo Marconi, who passed away on 15 July 1994.
Today the Marconi Club has more than 1,000 members on every continent: a large family of radio amateurs who, contact after contact, keep Morse code alive. The current President is Princess Elettra Marconi, daughter of Guglielmo Marconi.
