Loano Elettra Memorial Trophy 10 Maggio 1987
Nel 1987 mentre terminavano i festeggiamenti ai vincitori della competizione internazionale "Loano Elettra", alcuni tra i maggiori estimatori del CW presenti alla manifestazione, proposero la creazione di un Club teso ad accogliere tutti coloro che veramente amano e credono nella stupenda arte della telegrafia. Fu così che l'allora presidente della sezione ARI di Loano, il compianto Libero Meriggi I1YXN, spinto in particolar modo dal noto spedizioniere Baldur DJ6SI, pose le basi del nostro Club. L'idea, accompagnata dall’offerta della Presidenza del neonato Club, venne presentata alla Marchesa Maria Cristina Marconi, allora madrina della premiazione del Loano Elettra, che accolse entusiasticamente l'iniziativa accettando l'incarico.
In 1987, as the celebrations for the winners of the international "LOANO ELETTRA" competition were coming to an end, some of the keenest CW enthusiasts attending the event proposed creating a club for all those who truly love and believe in the wonderful art of telegraphy. So it was that the then president of the ARI section of Loano, the late Libero Meriggi I1YXN, strongly encouraged by the well-known DXpeditioner Baldur DJ6SI, laid the foundations of our Club. The idea, together with the offer of the Presidency of the newborn Club, was presented to Marquise MARIA CRISTINA MARCONI, then patroness of the Loano Elettra award ceremony, who enthusiastically welcomed the initiative and accepted the role.
