In its eighth edition, the Marconi Club QSO Party 2026 once again proves to be an unmissable event for the international community of telegraphy enthusiasts, capable of bringing CW operators together under the banner of their shared passion for this noble art.
The enthusiasm and determination of the participants turned the 20, 40 and 80‑meter bands into a vibrant global meeting point, offering great enjoyment for everyone involved. This year’s figures highlight an extraordinary increase in participation: a total of 292 logs were received (compared to 228 in the previous edition), marking a significant step forward in the history of the contest.
The breakdown shows 114 Marconi Club members (up from 111 in 2025) and a remarkable surge in independent operators, rising to 158 from last year’s 117. The international scope of the event expanded dramatically, with operators from around 70 DXCC countries, a notable increase compared to 2025.
Overall, the Organizing Committee’s database processed 26,729 QSOs, confirming the effectiveness of the cross‑checking work and the valuable collaboration of Filippo IZ1LBG and the excellent HRDLOG platform by Claudio IW1QLH.
The log analysis—carried out with extreme precision to minimize errors, achieving a contact‑verification rate close to 98%—produced exciting rankings where just a handful of points made the difference.
In the MC Members Category, the undisputed “king” Flavio IK1YDB confirms his dominance with a final score of 363,072 and 472 valid QSOs.
Right behind him, Ivo 9A1AA secures a solid second place with 310,500 points. The real battle unfolded for the third step of the podium: Marco I4IKW (289,261 points) edged out Tony IK1QBT (287,978 points) by a razor‑thin margin. The difference between them—just 1,283 points—shows how crucial accuracy was this year.
Among Independent operators, IU4JNR dominated the field with 196,285 points.
However, the most suspenseful moment came from the fight for second and third place: SN1T finished ahead of IT9WDC by only 423 points (110,826 vs. 110,403).
Here, precision was truly surgical: SN1T kept an exceptionally low error rate of 0.51%, while IT9WDC—despite having a higher RAW score—slipped to third place due to a slightly higher, though still very good, error percentage (1.46%). Special recognition goes to F5MQU and IU3LYJ, who submitted flawless logs with 0% errors.
The Organizing Committee renews its invitation to all participants—even those with only a few contacts—to always submit their logs using QARTest by Paolo IK3QAR, an essential tool to ensure that every participant provides a fully compliant log.
A heartfelt thank‑you goes to BEGALI for their constant support and the prestige of the prizes offered, and to Giu IT9VDQ for contributing the plaque awarded to the winner of the Independent category. Nella sua ottava edizione, il Marconi Club QSO Party 2026 si conferma un appuntamento imperdibile per la comunità internazionale di appassionati di telegrafia; capace di unire operatori CW sotto il segno della passione per questa nobile arte.
L’entusiasmo e la determinazione dei partecipanti hanno trasformato le bande dei 20, 40 e 80 metri in un vibrante punto di incontro globale con grande divertimento per tutti. Quest’anno i dati testimoniano un incremento straordinario della partecipazione. Sono stati infatti ricevuti ben 292 log totali (rispetto ai 228 dell'edizione precedente), segnando un netto passo avanti nella storia del contest.
La suddivisione vede 114 soci del Marconi Club (in crescita rispetto ai 111 del 2025) e un vero e proprio balzo in avanti degli operatori indipendenti, saliti a 158 dai 117 dello scorso anno. L'internazionalità dell'evento è esplosa con la partecipazione di operatori provenienti da circa 70 country DXCC, un incremento notevole rispetto al 2025.
Complessivamente, il database del Comitato Organizzatore ha gestito 26.729 QSO, confermando l'efficacia del lavoro di cross-check e della preziosa collaborazione di Filippo IZ1LBG e dall’ottima piattaforma HRDLOG di Claudio IW1QLH.
L’analisi dei log, elaborati con estrema precisione per minimizzare gli errori (con una percentuale di verifica dei contatti che ha sfiorato il 98%), ha delineato classifiche appassionanti dove poche manciate di punti hanno fatto la differenza.
Nella Categoria Membri MC, si conferma il "re" indiscusso Flavio IK1YDB con un punteggio finale di 363.072 e ben 472 QSO validi.
Alle sue spalle, Ivo 9A1AA conquista saldamente la seconda posizione con 310.500 punti. La vera battaglia si è consumata per il gradino più basso del podio: Marco I4IKW (289.261 punti) scalza per un soffio Tony IK1QBT (287.978 punti). La differenza tra i due è di soli 1.283 punti, un distacco minimo che dimostra quanto la precisione sia stata determinante.
Tra gli Indipendenti, il dominio è di IU4JNR, che stacca tutti con 196.285 punti.
Tuttavia, il fiato sospeso è tutto per la sfida tra la seconda e la terza posizione: SN1T precede IT9WDC per soli 423 punti (110.826 contro 110.403).
In questo caso, la precisione è stata chirurgica: SN1T ha mantenuto un errore minimo dello 0,51%, mentre IT9WDC, pur avendo un RAW score superiore, è scivolato al terzo posto a causa di una percentuale d’errore molto buona ma leggermente più alta (1,46%). Nota di merito per F5MQU e IU3LYJ, che hanno presentato log impeccabili con lo 0% di errore.
Il Comitato Organizzatore rinnova l’invito a tutti i partecipanti, anche a chi ha totalizzato pochi contatti, a inviare sempre il proprio log tramite QARTest di Paolo IK3QAR, strumento essenziale per garantire a ciascun partecipante un log perfettamente conforme.
